London ‘Art & Culture’ Experience

Private Guide. Day Tour. Visiting three amazing attractions. This is a walking and wandering tour all in central London (not in the cab).

As a born and bred London tour guide I enjoy providing commentary and anecdotes about all our tour stops and London’s great landmarks.

I’ll explain as we explore these world famous attractions (we choose three out of the four):

British Museum: the world’s greatest collection of human history, culture and art. Egyptian mummies, Rosetta Stone, Assyrian Lamassu, Lion Hunt Relief, Parthenon Marbles, an Anglo-Saxon Ship Burial and more. I select the best from a million exhibits! Free entry.

National Gallery: the most comprehensive collection of western art displayed in one gallery. Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, Caravaggio, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Turner, Cezanne, Monet, van Gogh and more. I select the best from over two thousand paintings! Free entry.

National Portrait Gallery: the story of Britain; through royalty, politics, art, science, literature, music and performance. Portraits in paint but also plaster, bronze and photography. This is the world’s largest collection of portraits, providing a unique look at this nations identities and cultures from the 1500s to today. Free entry.

St Paul’s Cathedral: is London’s Cathedral. Its colossal Baroque architecture spans British history and faith. On my tour: the Great Fire of London, architecture, tombs, WW2 and Charles and Diana’s wedding! Paid entry – see below.

Itinerary:

  • 09.30: Meet at your hotel/accommodation or first attraction – whichever is easiest or closest.
  • 10.00: In no set order, three of the following: British Museum, National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, St Paul’s Cathedral.
  • 17.30: Return to hotel/accommodation.

Lunch is usually an easy meal in one of the attraction cafe’s, all of which are very good.

Tour with a local guide: qualified, verified, experienced and friendly.

Having a walking guide like me is super-efficient and will help to make the day enjoyable and memorable. The three mega-famous attractions we choose are all huge.

We’re always close to coffee shops and places for bathroom breaks.

TRANSPORT: Through the day and between the attractions travel is on foot or taxi, we decide as we tour. Taxi is quicker – not included in price.

TICKETS: Price does not include admission to St Paul’s Cathedral. Tickets are itemised on the booking form and are purchased by Graham in advance. Tickets can be purchased on arrival if preferred. British Museum, National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery have free admission.
