Private tour to beautiful Bath and old-world Lacock from London

Our London born and bred tour guides do love our city. But they love English scenery and history too and enjoy providing commentary and historic anecdotes on all their tour destinations. During this fascinating day trip out of London you’re visiting two unforgettable, but very different, historic English locations.

Bath city centre is in its entirety a UNESCO world heritage site. Honey coloured Bath stone dominates and shimmers through this ancient city and our guided walk takes you through its elegant Georgian streets. We tell stories of royal patronage and divulge the architectural mysteries and symbols of its grand neoclassical buildings. You’ll see the famous Roman Baths and gothic Bath Abbey; and you’ll explore city connections to Jane Austen and (if you’re a fan) locations in Bath where Bridgerton was filmed.

Lacock is a small ‘picture postcard’ village in the Wiltshire countryside locked in time. Remarkably, every village building is dated between the 13th – 18th centuries, including the well preserved gothic church and its four pubs! A lot of period filming has been done here; for instance Pride & Prejudice, Cranford, Downton Abbey and Harry Potter. This fascinating place for a stroll provides a remarkable glimpse into England’s tranquil past.

Itinerary:

• 08.00: Meet at your hotel/accommodation, drive to Bath.
• 10.30: Arrive Bath.
• 13.00: Leave Bath.
• 14.00: Arrive Lacock.
• 15.00: Leave Lacock.
• 18.00: Return to London hotel.

Your driver and private guide will be explaining as you explore. Walking is integral to this tour. There are lots of stops for photo opps. Time spent viewing a location varies from one or two minutes to a few minutes.

You’re always close to coffee shops and places for bathroom breaks and our lunch location can be decided as you tour. You’ll also be stopping for short breaks on the outward and return journeys.

Having a driver/walking guide conducting your tour in a London taxi is super-efficient and will help to make the day enjoyable and memorable.

Note: Some people like to spend the whole day in Bath and go into the attractions, e.g. Roman Baths, Abbey. This leaves no time for a Lacock visit.
